Rohan Chand, 14, has landed the title role in Andy Serkis’s anticipated debut blockbuster Mowgli, based on Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.

Set for release in October, the film boasts an all-star cast including Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hollander. The young actor first caught the eye of a prominent New York based casting director at the age of six, which led to a small role in the 2011 comedy Jack and Jill. Since then, Chand has made cameo appearances in the films Lone Survivor and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, but it was his role as Chaitanya Chopra in the comedy Bad Words which garnered him acclaim, with Rolling Stone magazine praising his ‘excellent’ performance opposite actor and director Jason Bateman.
